Step 1: 253

How I moved from getting 230s on my NBMEs to scoring 250+ on the real deal in 1.5 month LONG POST I have read a lot of experiences during my preparation of this exam, it’s only fair to give back to the people going through this grueling journey, take whatever helps you and leave the rest, remember everyone is different and what might worked for me may not work for you I will talk pre-dedication period briefly and just mention the resources I used and and assessments, I will mainly focus on my mistakes and what I did to change my results during the dedication period >Pre-dedication period study material (March - August with alot of on/off periods) -Sketchy Micro x1 -BnB x1 (highly recommend it —> Dr Jason Ryan hands down is one of the best) -FA x2 (first time with BnB and Pathoma videos, second read with first round of UW) -UW x2 (first round - Offline, second round - Online) -Pathoma x1 -Sketchy Pharm - some videos not all -Other resources: Kaplan videos (

Step 1: 248. Malhi Vibes

hey guys!!! got my score its 248.....this group was boon for me..people provide you with every resource you ask for, motivate and guide you with their experiences......try to read and solve every question daily asked in this group actively bcz every single thing helps you somewhere Total prep time 1 year Resouces - firstly watched KAPLANS bcz i had poor basics and also bcz i had time but after watching i still found it difficult to read FIRST AID....so i watched Bnb videos for a section and then read first aid and it was of immense help and helped me alot to strengthen my understanding in the way i needed in the exam.... SKETCHY videos for micro (best for me bcz it was difficult for me to retain micro) PATHOMA (i read pathoma only once but watched videos 3-4 times before revising that section from first aid bcz that helped me fit the concepts rather than mugging things up from book ) BIOCHEM DR SAM TURCO kaplans(excellent resource) UWORLD (2times •firstly took 4 months for add

USMLE step 1- 260

Hey guys, this is my experience: •Graduated in May 2017, from AnNajah National University\Palestine. •Target score: 250+ •Stages of my preparation: 1- First First Aid read + Dr. Turco Biochemistry Videos (Biochemistry was my weakest area)~ took about 2 months, during this time I traveled once, and after that I did the step 2 CS exam and Hands-on experience in the US .. 2- BACK to step 1, I purchased UW by the end of March 2019, started with the first run UW along with FA together ~ took about 5 months 1st run UW score: 65+% 3- FA thorough read and memorization ~ took me about 3 weeks. 4- Second run UW along with FA ~ one month 2nd run UW score: 85+% During that time I started doing some of the NBMEs, the thing I did wrong is that some were offline, my scores were in the range of 230 - 245. 5- Then on 22 Dec 2019, I did an online NBME, it was NBME 23, scored around 235, the score wasn’t meeting my goals, I was devastated at that point, but actually it was the best t

Research for USMLE

Hey guys! Hope everyone's doing well. Quite a few people messaged me inquiring for research, so i thought of making a post. Long post ahead. When doing research: You can do research, regardless of being an undergrad or post grad, doesn't matter. The earlier you start doing it, the better. You can approach any professor/senior or anyone u know is into research and start working on a publication. Before you approach any researcher, its better to have ground knowledge of research. So that your able to make a good impact on the researcher and also for the reason that NO ONE is going to spoon feed you from the beginning. You have the internet at your fingertips, use it wisely. There are various types of research. Ranging from: Meta Analysis (Greatest Value) Cohort ( " ) Cross Sectional. Case Series. Case Control. Case Report. Editorial (Least Value) First decide a topic you want to research on. The

Step 1 experience. Score : 239

Not the best score to write an experience but this is for those who are stuck around 220-230 in their assessments as I was in the same situation during my preparation. Preparation time: 10 months of dedicated preparation during internship I started preparing for step 1 during the start of my internship in March and took the step in January. I started with Pathoma videos and Kaplan lecture videos for Biochemistry and Neurology. Then did a first read of FA for about teo months ad started with first round of uworld. Very much disappointed and stressed as I made a lot of mistakes. Uw 1st pass: 46% Also did another round of first aid with Uworld 1st round And sketchy micro but was not able to retain the facts with help of sketchy. Did marked and incorrect questions of uworld 1st pass and reached around 60% correct answers. Did another read of FA and started with Uworld second round. Uworld second pass: 78% correct Took NBME 24 before 3 months: 210 compeletely shattered with the score D

The total duration of the preparation was around 12 months (with a full-time job) -Study materials: *Kaplan Q bank (once) overall performance 77% *UW step 2 CK (once). Overall performance 78%. Did not get time to do a second round. Only did the wrong questions in Peads, OBGYN and psychiatry. *UW biostatistics subject review *Uptodate; occasionally to clarify some concepts *Did only the new CMS forms in peads, OBGYN and psychiatry -Assessments: *UWSA1 = 276 (one week before the exam) *NBME8= 247 (4 days before the exam) *UWSA2= 254 (the day before the exam) *step1 score= 241 *Real deal= 261 -Exam day: *Very long day and mentally exhausting. The most important thing is good night sleep the night before and plan your breaks beforehand *Did block 1 and 2 back to back without a break. After the second block until the end of the exam I took a short break about 5-7 minutes after each block. The lunch break after block 4 was a bit longer 15 minutes. On each
