Step 1: 248. Malhi Vibes

hey guys!!!
got my score its 248.....this group was boon for me..people provide you with every resource you ask for, motivate and guide you with their experiences......try to read and solve every question daily asked in this group actively bcz every single thing helps you somewhere
Total prep time 1 year
Resouces - firstly watched KAPLANS bcz i had poor basics and also bcz i had time but after watching i still found it difficult to read FIRST AID....so i watched Bnb videos for a section and then read first aid and it was of immense help and helped me alot to strengthen my understanding in the way i needed in the exam....
SKETCHY videos for micro (best for me bcz it was difficult for me to retain micro)
PATHOMA (i read pathoma only once but watched videos 3-4 times before revising that section from first aid bcz that helped me fit the concepts rather than mugging things up from book )
BIOCHEM DR SAM TURCO kaplans(excellent resource)
UWORLD (2times •firstly took 4 months for adding points in first aid {70% corrects}and secondly within a month {86%corrects})
also did UWORLD BiOSTATS (nt much help to me)
100 cases (read it in 4-5 hrs nd did questions on its back and made a 2-3 pages notes of its key points for revision before exam)
ANATOMY SHELF NOTES ( no need as uworld covers it all)
NBME's 15 -about 215 (offline in july after uworld first pass)
16- about 225( offline in august after revising first aid )
then did uworld 2 nd time... did 2 more revisions of first aid and resources bcz its all about repetition and retention of concepts
20- 237 (online in december)
UWSA 2- 243( january 3 )
NBME 18 -232 ( 3 days before my initial exam date {17 january}and i was devastated as hell so postponed my exam for a week bcz my mind state wasnt okay for my exam then )
FREE 120 -80 to 87%
Things that help
1 .Everyone studies and works hard but thing that makes difference is smart studying and ANALYSIS....try to analyse why your question is wrong... if there is a weak subject like cardio then what type of question are wrong in cardio...watch videos of that topic and try those questions again.... this really helps you kick your score up.
2 .Consistency is key-dont wait for motivation every day bcz one cant be motivated everyday or whole day so better to develop habit of studying everyday bcz DEVOTED HOURS PER DAY really matters
3 .Try to develop understanding of concepts in first 2 reads.. dont run after completing subjects
4 .Revision Revision Revision of first aid (the more you read the more you retain )
5 .Questions Questions Questions ( practicising ,fast reading , picking key words, time managment - everything important)
6 .Take breaks when you feel like bcz they help you boost a lot
Last month
•i made plans of revision of first aid in 15 days which never completed which used to demotivate me....but then i used to pacify myself by thinking that it happens with everyone
•also watched pathoma first 3 chapters videos in last 3 days ( they are must)
•took 3 assessment tests
•stay in regular touch with new questions
Exam was more like NBMEs and from first aid and after it i was like i am going to score 220 and all but thankfully god was kind to me 🙏
Lastly i will say Never analyse and degrade yourself from others experience bcz everyone has different journey and paths and choose what suits you best and brings out best from you..... you will always need some support in this journey emotionally bcz every fourth day you feel like i cant (that is with everyone bt what makes difference is weather you re indulge or not )......and finally trust waheguru and your hardwork and he will be choosing what will be best for you🙏

Alfonso H. Acosta‎ to USMLE Step 2 CK Preparation FORUM

‎ Hello! I want to share my preparation and experience in Step 2CK, hoping to help some of you. The basis of my preparation was UWorld, I purchased a two-month subscription and completed about 70% of questions (1816), with 73% correct. In the meantime I reviewed Kaplan notes, especially for biostatistics and psychiatry (my weak points). I did UWorld system-based for the most part, but sometimes I would randomize Gyn/Ob and Pediatrics. I solved an average of one block per day (40 questions), and some days I managed to fit in two blocks. My advice is to use UWorld as the basis, as A LOT of the subjects covered in UWorld were in the real thing. As for the exam itself, the clinical cases to me seemed too long and tiring to read, especially after a while. Just use your break time wisely to get up for a bit, splash some water in your face, eat a snack, etc. The exam is not difficult for the most part, although there are a couple of WTF questions. Psychiatry is a highly evaluated subje...

Dr Zeeshan Mansuri : Personal Statement Dos and Donts by ECFMG

Personal statements are an important part of your application to residency programs in the United States. The personal statement should show what kind of person and physician you are and wish to become. The following guidelines are derived from what program directors and staff have told us they do and do not like to see in an applicant’s personal statement.
