Hello! I want to share my preparation and experience in Step 2CK, hoping to help some of you. The basis of my preparation was UWorld, I purchased a two-month subscription and completed about 70% of questions (1816), with 73% correct. In the meantime I reviewed Kaplan notes, especially for biostatistics and psychiatry (my weak points). I did UWorld system-based for the most part, but sometimes I would randomize Gyn/Ob and Pediatrics. I solved an average of one block per day (40 questions), and some days I managed to fit in two blocks. My advice is to use UWorld as the basis, as A LOT of the subjects covered in UWorld were in the real thing. As for the exam itself, the clinical cases to me seemed too long and tiring to read, especially after a while. Just use your break time wisely to get up for a bit, splash some water in your face, eat a snack, etc. The exam is not difficult for the most part, although there are a couple of WTF questions. Psychiatry is a highly evaluated subject in the exam (every block has at least 5 questions of psych), so DON'T underestimate it. I did NBME 1 (offline) in late July to assess my general knowledge, scored 237. I started UWorld in August, did UWSA 1 (249) and UWSA 2 (234) at the beginning of October. I think a great part in succeeding in these exams is to be in a proper state of mind on examination day. USMLE Step 2 CS (Clinical Skills) - The Basics

2nd part of step 2 is called clinical skills although it is not really clinical rather it is more about the communication skills and professional behavior. Following facts should be addressed: 1-WHEN CS SHOULD BE TAKEN : This is misconception that CS can only be taken after step 2 ck as the clinical knowledge in CK helps In CS. CS can be taken at following points: a) As undergraduate while you are in USA for electives.This gives you enough confidence that you have entered in the journey of steps and passed one of its exams without being crushed by long hours studies as required for other steps. Fez Malik took CS at this level. b) Can be taken after step 1. I will not recommend to take cs at this level as you are in habit of reading long hours for step 1. You should continue this habit and take CK rather than rushing to CS which is different exam than theoretical exams of Step 1 and CK. HAKUNA MATATA : Story USMLE from 135 to 239 Alhumdulilah.

This post is for you if, you: Have been preparing for the USMLE step 1 for over 2 years Have had several breaks and had to pick up from scratch again every time Have other responsibilities that you cannot excuse yourself from (by this i am pointing towards desi married girls) Were not an academically exceptional student in medical school I always told myself that when i score well on the Step 1, i shall reach out to everyone who maybe (even remotely) are in a place similar to mine. I want to encourage you to keep working at it, to not lose hope and to know it will pay off. Before i start off, i want to stress that Step 1 is NO JOKE. It’s an exam that truly tests you on every level. It tests your memory, understanding, concepts, concentration and patience.
