Mazin Shaikhoun---- MATCH 2019. MUST READ THIS.

Last Friday, I knew that I have matched to the Internal Medicine residency program at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in New York. A program that my wife Setana Idriss and I have chosen as our top rank and we both matched into it as a couple. All praise goes to ALLAH for making this dream come true. In this post, I will share my experience and the steps that I have taken on this journey. I will break it down in bullet points by dates to make it easier to follow the story. -Disclaimer: *This could be the longest post you’ve ever read in your life! *I have attached my personal statement that I have used in my application. DO NOT COPY-PASTE any part of it and use it in your application as it might cause YOU a problem. Neha Shoaib--- MATCH 2019

Hi everyone. I would like to share my usmle journey with all of you. Somewhere somehow someone may get an inspiration. Year of Graduation 2014 Step1 232 Step2 ck 248 Step2 cs first attempt( los angeles CA center. Why I am mentioning it because this center was thought the most toughest non IMG friendly, honestly nothing happened. I had so many imgs on my test day.) Step3 currently doing. Visa : GC USCE: I moved to U.S in 2016 after getting married and got setteled in california. Its nearly impossible to.get USCE of any form from here in a well renowned university or even community hospital. They dont give externships at all. Observerships were also too hard to find. Wha I did?? I started volunteering. I did volunteering in pvt clinics.( some of the Img docs were helpful and I was able to continue do that. Than I did observerships at some clinics. Finally I got one observerhsip at a hospital. And that is it.) Research: again as hard as USCE in Cali. Anyhow i got an observeship in...
