Rosa Rodriguez Step 1 : 211

Hi everyoneee! Im the girl was posting days ago that I was going crazy while waiting for the score report
I got my score today, It it not a high score but I wanted to share my experience for those out there that freak out during nbmes!
Step 1: 211 (June 30)
Score report: JULY 25
NBME 13: 194 ( January 24)
NBME: 15 offline (I do not remember the date and mistakes)
UWSA1: 212 (January)
UWSA2: 227 ( January)
Nbme 19: 205 (June 28)
I studied for 2 years while doing my internship and social service (current), sometimes I used to study for 8 -10 hours a day or Skipped 2 weeks without studying.
I planned to take step 1 on Feb 17 but I had to reschedule because I freaked out doing the nbmes and uwsa. During these practice tests I used to cry for 1-2 hours and shake, had to go to the restroom due to nausea and funny bowel movements:(, I chose to reschedule, start the journey again, and look for help! My doctor gave me alprazolam just to take during the practice tests and step 1.
Im not that type of person that can learn everything with just one reading... to learn like an average person does I have to read at least 3 times and even then, sometimes I cant reach the goal
Fa: 5 times
Uworld: 2 times
Pathoma: 1 time
Kaplan- videos: 2 times
As you can see I only took one more NBME after my “freaking out” because I FREAKED OUT AGAIN  I could not reschedule this time because my eligibility period ended the same day that I took the test!
I used to get so nervous while reading “trust your nbmes scores” and I only had 2 done and they were bad.
At first when I saw my score I got sad because my goal was 230+ but in general my goal is to get matched in Pediatrics or Family medicine! I look for the NRMP charts and apparently looks that I still have 70% of chance with this score to get matched into pediatrics! I AM REALLY HAPPY!
(ps: While I was waiting for my score I started to study for step 2, I bought FA and I saw at least 3 questions/ answers of the real step 1 test that I did not read in FA step 1)

USMLE Guidance

Salam everyone. Here are my experience and insight into the programs I interviewed at. I took the program location, program environment, and halal food places into prime consideration while ranking. My interview calls were: Internal Medicine Rank-ables: 1-UCONN Farmington- I loved the program. A lot of desi residents. a huge sized program, approx 45 residents per year, . J1 visa. But the program does offer J1 Waiver. Some good restaurants around. You can always travel to NYC which is about 2 hours drive. 2-Allegheny General Pittsburgh- Very nice PD. Good research opportunities esp in Rheumatology. J1 Visa. IV is laid back. 3- UPMC Mckeesport Pittsburgh. The program gave me a homely feeling from the very first moment. Everyone was super nice, especially PC Angela. University-affiliated Community Hospital. Many Kemcolians in the program, Easily accessible desi groceries and restaurants in the neighborhood, H1b Visa. I missed my flight the night before the interview. Had to travel on...

Guidance of USMLE

Since I was so confused during the process of application for USMLE step 1 exam, I thought I should note down the step by step procedure for IMG graduates : 1. Get ECFMG ID. Log into ECFMG website and create an account with basic info. Then you will be mailed ECFMG /USMLE ID in 3-5 days. 2. Application for ECFMG certification. At this point, you will be asked to pay 125$. You will get the form 186 to download as soon as you make the payment. 3. Get your passport ready. You will be asked to notarise the form 186 via notarycam. The procedures are well mentioned in the website. You need to upload the first page of form 186 and copy of your passport in the notarycam website. You will be asked to get an appointment for notarycam after you upload these documents. 4. Notarycam personnel will fix an appointment as per your convenience. Keep your passport handy. It will last for 3-4 minutes. It is very simple step. The personnel will verify the passport and your basic informati...
