USMLE STEP 1 score 232

For the people that struggle with NBMEs, this is my story.
Preparation time: 15months
Exam date June 20. (After the pool change)
Score I wanted: 240
Score I got: 232
At the end I am happy with my score. I know people on this forum only post experiences with 250+ but i think we need more people to show that getting lower than that is also good. Ive also met a lot of people with lower scores that have matched. So lets be happy for the people with those awesome scores, but also be happy for yourself if you don’t reach that. This test is hard, and being able to take it and pass it on first attempt is great on itself.
My preparation had a few interruptions but most of the time it was dedicated. I was an average student and my basics were average also. Although my pharm and micro was horrible.
I used the Becker books, FA, Pathoma, Sketchy micro & pharm, UWORLD and Kaplan qbank.
My first NBME was before dedicated and it was 190.
NBME 13: 211 (7months before)
NBME 15: 207 (6months before)
NBME 16: 225 (4months before)
NBME 18: 217 (3months before)
At this point i decided to push my test. Horrible mistake.
UWAS1: 245 (7weeks before)
UWAS2: 230 (6weeks before)
NBME 19: 225 (8 days before)
FREE 117:86% (4 days before)
As you can see my scores were all over the place. But after NBME 19, I was just exhausted. I knew I couldn’t study for more time. I wanted to be done with the test and move on with my life.
Test day I was very nervous, but after first question relaxed a little bit. Thought exam was extremely hard, I was marking like 20qs per block. Had a lot of weird questions. After the test I was sure I had failed. Was very devastated, and the weeks waiting for the score were horrible.
Got my score July 11, cant explain how nervous I was. After feeling like I had failed i only wanted to pass, and thank God I did!
I should add that I did the old offline nbmes, and I believed it helped during the test, because nbmes (for me at least) were very weird, so doing this old nbme helped me with the anxiety of weird questions during the test.
Good luck everyone!!

USMLE Step 1 experience - Mohammed Qussay Al-Sabbagh: 263

I’m Mohammed Qussay Al-Sabbagh, a 6th -year medical student at the University of Jordan, and I have recieved my Step 1 results a few days ago, which’s turned out to be 263, Alhamdulillah! Thus, I have decided to note down and share my experience, as I found reading others’ experiences very useful to me… This experience documentation will be divided into three sections; general take home messages, my USMLE step 1 journey, and my studying sources. I. Big misconceptions “Just because everybody does it, doesn't make it right” In this section, I’ll present some big misconceptions about Step 1 preparation, which drives students to be needlessly worried, rendering them unefficeintly anxious and distressed at all times. Before starting, ALWAYS REMEMEBR that there exists no schedule or technique that fits all kinds of medical students, which calls for the creation of your own personal approaches according to your own capabilities which no one knows for exact except for yourself! Misconc...
